About

A Curiosta brand.

Plain words. The frame is original. The science is cited. Facts checked 6 Oct 2026.

mind is an editorial site in the Curiosta family, beside learn, kinetic, buildwith, and founder. It has two jobs: how to learn when answers are free, and how not to be fooled by a machine or a person.

The spell names — Patronus, Occlumency, Legilimency, Priori Incantatem, and the added Foundation — are a memory aid. They are not a claim about fiction, and they are not a course. The drills under them come from two public sources.

  1. Barbara Oakley and Terrence Sejnowski, the Coursera course Learning How to Learn, and Oakley's book A Mind for Numbers. Focused and diffuse modes, chunking, illusions of competence, retrieval, sleep.
  2. John S. Hutchinson, Concept Development Studies in Chemistry, Rice University, free and open. Foundation, questions, observations, deductions, model. His phrase: redirect the focus of learning.

What is ours is the mapping, the order of the drills, and the decision to write them as something a person can cast on a weekday. What is not here yet is a first-person account of someone almost fooled, and then not. That is the next page, and it should be a real one.
